_I began working toward an Associate in Science in Computer Information Systems in the Fall af 2001. I am now enrolled in summer courses with two terms behind me, and 4 semesters left to complete. In addition to taking summer night courses, I'm hoping to find time to complete my Web Site and continue with my own studies and research. My Web design interests involve working in a group to, create custom images, design effective and intuitive site navigation, maximizing file compression for quick uploading and downloading and FTP and site maintenence. I enjoy trying it all, but when one works on a solo project however, they miss the brain storming process of a group which really generates the interest and excitement to make a site come together. -I started out by reading every book on website design that I could find but was mostly self taught for the first six months or so. In the spring of 2000, a noncredit Website Design Certificate program at BCC, caught my attention. It seemed to be a great way to test the waters and find out if Web Design was for me. It also seemed like a good way to meet other students interested in web and graphic Design.

_I'm forty-five years old, married, and have two children. Having been a boat interior carpenter for the last fifteen years, I'm finding that I need more of a challenge in my work to keep me interested. A change in occupation in the near future seems eminent and Website Design seems to fit the bill for me. I sat in front of a computer for the first time about five years ago and have been interested in website and graphic design ever since.
